“I’ve been monitoring the local reaction on social media and to my disappointment, nothing. Oh well. I attend a university so maybe after the weekend I’ll hear more on Monday. However, people have taken notice. Today, I strolled through the city to check my work. My “Diversity means no White cities…” poster has been removed, but to my amusement they did an abysmal job of it. It’s still half there after all their efforts and there are signs that they tried to remove the ones behind a library. They couldn’t even removed one word! The rest haven’t been touched and they’re in busy intersections (though I haven’t revisited the one I placed on the newspaper stand. Good god that must be triggering).
The paste that I used is most effective. It is 50% Tacky glue (very cheap) and 50% water. Just use a paintbrush or roller to wet the surface and then place the poster on it and paint over it. It take serious effort to remove it. The posters, I printed out with a lazer printer so the ink will not run when the paper is wet.
I did notice that I misspelled “apologize” on one of them. Arg. I designed and printed them myself in a hurry and that must have slipped right past me. Oh well.
I carefully scouted out the areas beforehand , looking for areas that were heavily trafficked by pedestrians or clearly visible at intersections. I placed them all in the morning around 5 AM on a Saturday without any problem.
One thing which I think I could have done better and will do next time is arrange all the things I was carrying (paste, a paintbrush, and the posters) better.
